Those were 4 long years of my life. Those four years, I did not laugh. Honestly. Literally. I did not laugh for full four years. Not on a single joke or a small event or a funny thing happening around was able to make me laugh or even smile. I simply could not laugh. I had lost my love. I had lost everything in my life. I had taken it way too seriously. And nothing happening around me could make me laugh.
And then one evening, after full four years, a funny thing happened. I do not remember exactly what it was, but it made me smile and you know what…. I literally felt the muscles of my face that cause a smile moving and doing an effort. I felt as if they were there for the first time on my face. That was a weird feeling. That was the feeling which made me think hour after hour.
If any one among my readers ever had a numb hand or foot and then it started feeling things again, that feeling that day was more than that i.e. of actually being able to use the muscles of my face that made me smile.
It was an eye opener . There are moments in life when things change. It was that moment for me. In that moment I decided to be happy. Though things did not change over night. It took me some time to execute, implement and accept that decision. The decision that I shall be happy, act happy, feel happy, say happy things without waiting for some event to happen.
I realized that I did not have to hit a jack pot or to buy a jaguar or have a perfect woman in my life to be happy. I found that there was and there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
