I have always wondered, why most of us cannot figure it out. We think happiness is in possessing things. So we get in pursuit of getting muscle or sports cars, latest cell phones and digital gadgets or toys or going on vacations or building a dream house or buying a Rolex or putting an expensive work of art in our gallery or getting married to a particular woman. We think such acts shall make us happy. Sadly, we have all experienced a sudden dull feeling, some times a mild or some times a high depression just after a few days we had our favorite possession.
Possessions, whether people or things do not make us happy because it is in their intrinsic nature. They cannot make us happy. They are truly and naturally incapable of making us happy. And we search happiness in the exact place, where it was never to be found. No doubt we never find it.
Happiness is in freedom. Freedom is if we can give away some thing. If we can give some thing away, it means we are larger than that. It cannot hold us. It cannot dwell on us. Giving away is freedom. Giving away is a proof that we are more than what we possessed.
Happiness is not carrying heavy luggage. It is to travel light.
Happiness is in the realization of the fact that we alone are worthy enough without any possessions to dwell on. Happiness is in accepting it. Happiness is in acceptance.
